Stone Crossing Wedding in Boise, Idaho | Laura & Taylor
If you’re dreaming of a wedding venue in Boise that feels elegant, timeless, and endlessly photogenic, Stone Crossing is one of those rare places that truly delivers. Laura and Taylor’s June wedding showed off everything we love about this historic estate, from the sweeping grounds to the stone A-frame main building, all wrapped in a day that balanced heartfelt emotion with a high-energy celebration.
As a Boise-based photo and video duo, we’ve photographed and filmed weddings across the Treasure Valley, and Stone Crossing stands out as a venue that offers variety without ever feeling disjointed. Laura and Taylor’s day was the perfect example of how seamlessly this venue can shift from quiet, intimate moments to a packed dance floor.
A Summer Wedding Full of Heart
Laura and Taylor’s wedding took place in June 2025, right as summer light begins to stretch long and golden. Their day felt classy and formal, but never stiff. It was emotional in the best way, layered with personal touches and genuine reactions that unfolded naturally.
Their first look was one of those moments we’ll remember for a long time. Taylor’s reaction was immediate and unguarded, tears and all, followed by him sweetly asking if they were allowed to kiss yet. Moments later, their bridal party joined them for private vows, and partway through, their son wandered in to be part of it too. It felt unscripted and deeply personal, the kind of scene that reminds us why we love documenting weddings the way we do.
One of the most meaningful details of the day was Laura’s gift to Taylor, a custom Pokémon card she had designed just for him. It was thoughtful, playful, and perfectly reflective of her personality. In the months since their wedding, it’s clear this wasn’t a one-off gesture. Laura has a unique way of showing care attention to detail when for people she cares about, and it came through in big and small moments throughout the day.
The wedding also featured the popular table photos, where each table took a photo with the bride and groom. Laura and Taylor opted to do this as guests were released for dinner, and this is probably the easiest and most efficent way to get photos with (nearly) everyone at your wedding!
Why Stone Crossing Is a Dream Venue for Photo and Video
Stone Crossing offers a rare combination of scale and intimacy. There’s room to move, breathe, and create a wide range of looks without ever leaving the property. The gazebo, the bridge, stone walls, a grand staircase, and the ballroom all provide distinct backdrops that feel cohesive and elevated.
From a photography and videography perspective, that flexibility matters. On Laura and Taylor’s day, we navigated some harsh midday light during bridal party portraits following the first look. The spacious grounds gave us options, allowing us to adjust angles and keep everything looking polished. When their private vows ran longer than planned, we shifted bridesmaid photos to after the ceremony without stress.
Our favorite spot at Stone Crossing is the open area near the venue sign at sunset. As golden hour light filters through the trees and catches the stone textures, it creates a warm, romantic glow that feels so cinematic. Laura and Taylor’s sunset portraits there were the perfect moment for the two of them before their reception kicked into full celebration mode.
A High-Energy Reception to Remember
As emotional as the earlier part of the day was, the reception brought the energy. Once guests filed on the dance floor on the patio, the mood shifted effortlessly into celebration. From the first dances to a packed dance floor, to the t-shirt toss the couple opted for instead of a classic boquet and garder toss, the night felt joyful, loud, and full of movement, exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes for incredible photo and video storytelling.
Stone Crossing’s indoor reception space keeps that energy contained in the best way. The acoustics, lighting potential, and layout allow the party to build naturally without ever feeling cramped.
